This is my newest piece of work that I made for one of the assessments for my course at uni.
This is the God of Lego - Kratos
The textures were created in Adobe Illustrator and imported into Photoshop as vector smart objects, then saved as PSD's for use in MAX. At any time I can up-scale the textures if I so desire without quality loss. The scene lighting setup is made of a backdrop, an HDR image and 3 Photometric halogen light plates with ray-traced shadows. All shaders used were arch&design ones with Ambient Occlusion enabled.
I hope you like this image.
Fun fact: It took 50h36m44s to render it on my laptop because I totally over-sampled everything. To top things up - I was mental enough to actually wait for that long
This is freaking fantastic. I would love to add a minifig like this to my collection. If I could only say one thing that kinda bothers me. Its his legs. It looks like he has on red pants. I've seen a few minifigs where they draw the shorts or dress on the minifig and on the Scottsman minifig they actually give him a kilt made of cloth. Ever considered going back and re-doing the legs to look more like his attire? As for colors and technique I believe they are spot on and pretty good. The scar over his abs would be kinda cool too lol.
This looks great - the printing looks just like the sort an official Lego minifigure would feature and the lighting is perfect. The only thing I can nitpick is that the blades don't look like something Lego would produce; a little too detailed if you great me. Great piece though nonetheless
